The community gets together to work on the trail 3,500 VOLUNTEER HOURS NEEDED...
We always need volunteers to help us work on the hut system. We are currently looking for commitments to fulfill 3,500 volunteer hours. If you can pledge some volunteer hours to help build a hut or work on the hut trail system, please fill out and submit our volunteer interest form below. GHA VOLUNTEER INTEREST FORM
GHA plans to construct the Broome Hut on Second Creek Hut this summer and fall (2011). Volunteers, both with and without building experience will be needed for any amount of time you can spare. For every 8 hours served, you will receive a certificate good for one free night in the hut, and if you choose you will be eligible to become a GHA Volunteer – who will utilize the volunteer quarters to help manage the cabin. Donations can be made ONLINE. To increase the value of your donation, especially for larger donations, please mail us a check or call 970-726-9877 or email info@grandhuts.org to discuss the best way to send in your contribution.

All funding for the first hut project must be in place in order to receive the final permit from the U.S. Forest Service. Once this permit is issued, building of the hut can begin. Help us reach our goal by donating today! Grand Huts Association is a Colorado 501c(3) non-profit organization and donations are tax deductible. All donors will receive a donation receipt for tax records. Most backcountry huts have been built as memorial to special people who loved our mountains. If your family or group would like to honor such a person, please call 970-726-9877 or email info@grandhuts.org to discuss the idea.
