A group of local Fraser Valley backcountry enthusiasts recognized the importance of the Second Creek Cabin and formed a tax exempt, nonprofit organization to support the development of backcountry huts in Grand County. The diverse Board of Directors and the Advisory Board include long time Grand County residents as well as newcomers, local business owners and retired professionals, skiers, snowshoers and hikers.
GHA has received great community support. In addition to individual cash contributions and in-kind donations from local businesses, we have received financial support from the towns of Winter Park, Fraser, and Granby, the Fraser Valley Metropolitan Recreation District, Fraser Valley Partnership for Trails, the Grand County Board of County Commissioners, the Jack Forte Foundation and the Grand Foundation, and Sage Peak Associates.
FLASH BACK TO THE PAST
When Grand Huts Association was started many years ago, several local community members helped in whatever way possible. We are grateful for all the support we received, from donations to service to marketing and logo design. This historical logo design was the basis for our new updated logo found on all of our current marketing material.
